This dark purple shade is named after the distinctive blooms of the Heliotrope plant. Early purple dyes were made from shellfish or snails until the accidental discovery of a synthetic alternative was discovered in the nineteen century whilst a scientist was trying to make a treatment for Malaria.
DMC Stranded Cotton Thread is a superior quality thread perfect for stitching on all types of fabric, It is comprised of 6, size-25 strands that can be easily separated. allowing you to adjust the thickness of your stitching by using a different number of strands.
